The real magic lies in Megabass' original Side-Stepping Balancer (PAT.) system, which allows this popper to transform into a walking-style lure with short twitches of free line. This patented technology consists of a fixed tungsten weight on the tail and a spherical tungsten balancer on the front that moves from side to side. This channels the movement of the weight laterally, combining the spitting action of a popper with a truly unique rolling dog walk action. Of course, the Megabass POP-X can be used like a regular popper, but unlike a traditional popper that just splashes, the POP-X's patented gill system has two slots that allow water to enter, creating a more natural surface disturbance. 

HYDRO-CUP & WATER DUCT PAT.
The Hydro-Cup is designed with water channels to give the POPX a natural sound and unique movement. The POPX's unique biological sound is achieved by allowing excess water to flow from the cup into the channels and escape behind the lips. The channels also prevent the lure from tipping over at high speeds in the water, giving it excellent stability.
